2023 Honda Odyssey vs. 2023 Toyota Sienna

If you’re trying to find your next minivan for sale in Easley, SC, then the 2023 Honda Odyssey and the 2023 Toyota Sienna deserve a close comparison. Both of the vehicles have a lot to offer and might appear to have many similarities. However, these two models have some distinct differences, so let’s compare them bumper to bumper and determine which one deserves to be in your driveway.

Updates for 2023

The Honda Odyssey welcomed the mid-range Sport trim to its lineup, which includes red ambient interior lighting, gloss black exterior accents, black leather upholstery with red stitching, and unique 19-inch wheels. The Sport trim will have a starting price of roughly $42,705. The LX trim was removed from the trim lineup.

The 2023 year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Toyota Sienna, so this year only 2,525 25th Anniversary Edition Sienna will be built. The anniversary edition will be based on the sporty-looking XSE trim and will have carpeted floormats bearing the 25th Anniversary logo among other additions. The Anniversary edition will have a starting price of roughly $48,755.

The Odyssey stands out with its spacious and comfortable seating that is paired with its easy-to-use infotainment system. There is plenty of room for all occupants and cargo. The third row lays flat and the second row can be physically removed from the vehicle for maximum cargo space. Without the rear seats, there are between 140.7 and 158 cubic feet behind the front seats. The Odyssey can hold eight occupants and has cloth upholstery, and heated, and power-adjustable front seats. This minivan comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, and more family-friendly options.

The Sienna falls short when it comes to maximum cargo space because while the third row can fold down, the second row cannot be removed or folded down. The first and second rows of the Sienna is comfortable and suitable for any occupant; however, the third row isn’t great for adult riding long distances and is a better fit for children. Critics also found that the software for the touchscreen was mediocre when it came to intuitiveness and was not attractive.

The Odyssey is here to impress with its light, accurate steering paired with its 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It provides its occupants with a smooth ride and decent gas mileage. Don’t let the minivan fool you because it has plenty of pep for passing and merging on the highway. No matter what road you’re on, the Odyssey is smooth and confident.

Critics found that the Sienna is slow to reach 60 mph, and even though it may not be evident in town, it is obvious when merging on the highway. Also, critics found that the engine was loud when asking for power. The sensitive brakes also make it difficult to achieve a smooth ride.
